Phillips XXL Air fryer
In my land home I don't own one of these. On a boat though it is fantastic, it heats up really quickly and is very power efficient. We are able to do a whole meal, chicken pieces with potatoes and veg for 2 people. It is also very easy to clean and almost anything can be cooked in here.

One of my best purchases! These pots nest perfectly, and the removable handles make them a great space saver. They also come with a bungy cord to keep everything stable. Compatible with gas, induction, and oven use. I have the 10-piece set for maximum pot size flexibility. While they are slightly expensive, they’re a worthwhile investment. After two years, these have no rust marks. Interestingly, my pricey knives, are already showing signs of rust

An essential item for us due to lack of fridge space. Nearing the equator or the tropics, heat is extreme and cold water is essential. No plumbing required just fill with water.
It can be turned on and off as needed, if you need to preserve power, also great when you are in a Marina and on shore power.
To be noted it does not like rough seas as the ice can jam and the machine can get damaged as happened with ours, So I would turn it off when the water gets rough.

These are fantastic, not just for hot pots, you can put anything on them when you are rolling around and it holds solid, they were a birthday gift (Thank you Niel van Zyl), We have them scattered all over and we cannot do without them. Again there are many alternative brands available
Visit website →Stanley Cup
These bottles are in our opinion the best brand for insulation they keep our water ice cold for long periods. I have tried alternative and they just not as good. Also handy to take to land to stay hydrated. Stanley is the best brand and we particularly like the one in the image as it's the perfect size.

We have gas on the boat, but got this as a backup for in case the gas runs out or there is a problem, which actually has happened. We were able to switch to an electric option. We sometimes even just use this to boil water as it is so much faster than gas.
Joseph Joseph
Now this is amazing stuff for both the kitchen and bathrooms. Much of there stuff is designed to be nested and for small spaces. Look at their website in our link, for South Africans many of these products can be purchased at Yuppie Chef in Cape Town. We have bought many Joseph Joseph items.
Visit website →Aarke Sodastream
As whiskey and Soda Water drinkers. This makes it is easier to store a 60l gas container than cans or bottles of soda water. For people that like gassy cold-drink this is a cheap and easy storage solution. Keep spare canisters, as they not always readily available everywhere, specifically in Brazil they do not exist. Everywhere else we have managed to get refills. There are many different brands, but we particularly like this one.
Nutribullet Blender
Another one of my creature comforts. we wanted to have something to make smoothies, crush ice, blend soup and a whole lot more. Love the smoothies we get from using fruit that is getting to its end of life and then just gets frozen to be used in a smoothie. Super healthy and Good! The best part of this Nutri is that it has suction pads on the bottom so never rolls of our counter even in rough seas!
Trolley
This has been great for provisioning, especially for long passages and there is a lot of shopping as more often than not you will not have a car. It folds up and can be stored easily, however the sea air is a killer on a boat, we should probably have covered it better to protect against the sea air.
Engel Fridge or Freezer
We purchased this for the crossing to allow us extra space to either cold store fresh produce or freeze produce. There are different options available, but keeping produce fresh is a challenge. If you can manage the power I would certainly get one of these or similar.
Le Creuset Pot
My favourite pot (Dutch Oven) This is very much my own creature comfort. It has to be remembered that you will always use an oversized pot when cooking whilst on passage as the rolling also makes the content role. It is heavy so does not move easily. It is also perfect for making bread as the cast iron and allows for very even heat distribution and heat retention.
Visit website →Pasta Making Machine
Although not a requirement, just one of my many creature comforts. We found it was something we could do as a family/crew especially on those long days in the doldrums, and there is nothing better than your own fresh pasta.
Plaster dispencer
Bandaids and a small bottle of disinfectant and burn gel is a must have in the galley, in a very easily accessible place. This is a really good dispenser that can be operated with one hand as it removes one side.
Bottle Covers
I call these rattle stoppers, as without them your wine bottles will be clanking around and have risk of breaking. I would like to find something that is more environmentally friendly and re-usable so if any one reading this finds a good option, please DM me or send me a message by clicking the "Visit Website"
