Mix together, crumbs and all spices in a mixing bowl

  2. 2

Beat egg in a separate bowl

  3. 3

    Cut cauliflower into florets

  4. 4

Dip each floret into the egg mixture

  5. 5

Coat each floret well with spiced crumbs

  6. 6

lightly paint air fryer tray with olive oil

  7. 7

Evenly lay out the crumbed cauliflower leaving a little breathing room so no over crowding, you can do this in 2 or 3 batches if necessary

  8. 8

Turn air fryer onto 190° celsius and allow approximate cooking time of 10-13 minutes depending on air fryer and size of florets.

  9. 9

Once tender and golden brown serve with your favourite dip. In this recipe I used guacamole, but its great with hummus, sriracha mayonnaise and any other option you come up with.

Galley notes

Boat challenges

  • If you do not have an air fryer, this recipe can be made in both an electric and a gas oven working with the same temperature in either, cooking time may need to be increased by 3-4 minutes.

Basic rules

  • Cauliflower, egg, crumbs. You can add any spice of your choice, chill powder, curry powder, what ever you fancy they all work.

How ingredients behave

  • I have not experienced anything unusual with the ingredients in this recipe so it should be pretty straight forward.

Galley tips

  • No panko crumbs: Any savoury biscuit can be used even if not fresh and crunchy anymore, old sour dough bread crumbs also works like a charm, just crush them well and continue, if they have flavour be sure to test for salt before adding more.
  • No Parmesan: Leave it out.
