Illa Dos Frades & Itaparica

A very short but pleasant sail to Illa Dos Frades where Makyla had actually been before when she was helping out on a charter boat, turns out it is a lovely little islet, good safe anchorage and great food, after spending the day walking around we headed back to Intle Breeze for a one night anchor before heading to Itaparica.

Off to the beautiful Itaparica to meet up with some friends. We had an absolute ball in Itaparica, the anchorage was great, the water beautifully clear and warm, so we spent our days jumping off the back of the boat swimming, snorkelling and generally just enjoying boat life, with beautiful sunsets. Makyla did still do a little boat work as we needed to change a couple hatches. This however did not stop us from enjoying some boat parties and good food, Lester even made his famous red thai seafood dish, which was delicious as always.

Well just like that Island fun was brought to a grinding halt, when the phone call from the Harbour Mater came, to ask us why exactly are we still floating around out here. 😩 Clearly we are not good criminals, as we left our AIS on so they had been watching us all week 👀 so much for trying to be under the radar. Within the hour, we had lifted anchor and started heading north, Angelas ticket was changed to meet us in Recife, where we will sneak in pretending to have a generator problem, this apparently we can legally do if we have boat issues ☺️ This is going to be a very quick stop and we need to get going and leave Brazil now, as all eyes are on us. A little photo bomb of our naughty but very fun week, with people from, USA, Latvia, Switzerland, Namibia and of course us, what a wonderful mix of people.
