Just in Time for Birthday Vibes

Sitting here today on this beautiful beach with waters as clear as crystal, sipping on our newfound frozen liquid obsession, "The Porn Star" It felt like a good time to share some of our journey over the last few days.

We arrived in Curaçao on the 15 September, right in time to enjoy both my and Eric's birthdays on an Island with amazing food and beaches, what more could we ask for. Curaçao certainly did impress from the the moment we manoeuvred ourselves toward the iconic Swinging Old Lady through which we had to pass in order to get to our Marina, Cruising past the water front you could not help but notice the cheerfully coloured buildings, and how immaculately maintained they are shinning in the Caribbean sun. The sky is blue and the water is gentle, so easing into our berth was a breeze.

The three of us spent my birthday on the gorgeous Mood beach, getting our fill of vitamin D, while snorkelling in some of the most beautifully clear water I have ever experienced, ordered snacks and sipped on tropical cocktails all day, after which we enjoyed an amazing dinner and wine with fantastic views over the water.

The next few days we put some much needed energy into tackling boat work, cleaning, maintenance, as well as getting the damaged Mr Oxley repaired. Yes of course we ventured out to explore the pretty and charming streets of Curaçao and enjoyed some delicious food that is a perfect blend of Holland and the Caribbean, Oh and lets not forget the sheer joy of being in a grocery store that is European,  it is the first time in a long time where every product was familiar to me.

We were really hoping that we would be able to haul Intle Breeze out of the water here,  to deal with her ever whitening underbelly, sadly this was not meant to be as they are unable to haul out this particular model of catamaran. Our next option was Colombia where we know for sure they can take us out, however we then would also want to leave her in Colombia while we do our trip back home. According to the dock talk leaving her alone and unattended in Colombia was not recommended, so a quick re-think and we decided on Panama.

Another birthday another beautiful beach, today we celebrate my wonderful husband, we checked into to a hotel for the night, so we can enjoy some drinks without having to drive home, since the beach we chose was a little further away. Covered in palm trees and perfect white sand made for a beautiful lazy day floating in the warm caribbean water. close enough to the hotel to take a dip in the fresh water pool and hang out with some gorgeous iguanas before dinner
