Rich People Problems
As I sit here in the calm of my anchorage in between my freshly washed bed linen, I realise that I have given you a 2 week break from my stories. Thanks to a few private messages, I was reminded that it has been a while.
The last 2 weeks have been a bit like having a real day job 😳 as we have been working really hard on our website, which has 2 primary purposes firstly that there will always be a properly doumented memoir, for our children and future generations, they really need to know just how cool we were 😂
The second is being able to help other sailors, with things like best galley items, giving fresh produce a longer life span, dealing with the monitoring of water and power usage, best travel apps for sailors and more. Just the things we have learnt along our short journey even if one thing helps another sailor it's worth it. How to navigate the formalities of customs and immigration in different countries, it truly is very different in every place, and is nothing like an airport.
So now let's talk Cayman. 😀 Our first anchorage where we spent a week was an incredibly roly poly situation, with huge cruise liners, super yachts, jet skis and more, but the water...oh man the clarity was incredible the below image was taken from our boat and you can see 10 meters at least below the waters surface. We have now moved to the north side of the Island and it is so calm, it feels almost as if we are on land.

We have of course used our evening for exploring, restaurants and pubs, truth be told we have had a couple of wild nights out that is probably not for sharing on this platform. 😂😁🙈.
Cayman is insanely expensive on a par with Sweden and some things even more expensive So for the most part we eat aboard.
The saying " RICH PEOPLE PROBLEMS" is very relevant on this island as everyone seems to have money even the lowest paid. Let me give you some examples.
Restaurants have a coaster that goes around a glass with lots of ice so you don't drip, they are made of some kind of high quality material, something that is possibly a cross between paper and fabric, so is re-usable at least.
We have done plenty travelling in our life and never have we seen so much organic food both in the grocery stores and restaurants, speaking of restaurants the food is all clean and fresh, no heavy sauces, veggies are steamed to perfection, unbelievably well catered for vegetarians. I am in heaven with the food as I am able to get exactly what I want and need in both a grocery store or a restaurant, this is a very pleasant change, if I compare to some of the other places we have been to recently.
Went off to our local restaurant, not realising it is spring break and loaded with kids, who by the way are kitted out in the very best attire Louis Vuitton, and every other high end brand you can think of........Sorry for my kids, they gotta work for what they have and will appreciate it so much more when it comes with their own blood sweat and tears.
Cocktails oh my word every cocktail in every bar is made with top shelf spirits, this does not even happen in Sweden. 🤯 The ones in the photo actually have a large perfectly clear ice block in them.
Then the last two weird things, we went into a place called the Anchor, it is literally a rich man's shebeen, except they are legal here. They sell alcohol and a few snacky items with a small bar and is hands down the cheapest drinks in town, BUT wait they sell and serve top shelf alcohol 🤣 looks a little fancier than SA too.
Final rich man problem, look a the photo ....... can't jus thave a normal dinghy it needs to stand out.

The next half of our month will be spent exploring a little deeper, we have booked a bioluminescence tour at new moon, we are as excited as kids in a candy store for this one, there will be great photos to share.
Of course we met some fisherman the other night, yeah it turned out to be a very very long night 😂 however they will be taking us to Stingray city to swim the the stingrays. Really excited for that.
Tomorrow we collect our rental so the website will be on hold for a few days.
Till next time everyone, have an awesome day, evening or morning, wherever our friends and family are in the worldd
