Back to Europe

Germany - Frankfurt

Eric and I always set off on our travels with great excitement. Life aboard Intle Breeze has not lacked adventure,  but no matter how much we love being on our boat and sailing it is always going to be wonderful to get back to Europe to see friends and family, as this comes with its own sets of fun.

Since this post is not really about boat experiences I will keep it short and let the photos do the talking.

First stop Frankfurt for some birthday vibes and a reunion with the Bisping Family, which is always filled with tons of laughter, great food and a little rugby too. Even though Eric is still a little restricted with regards to mobility, this did not stop us from having fun. Thankfully we had the Bisping girls that were more than happy to wheel him around even over long and questionable terrain because we all wanted to go for a walk 😂

We explored castles, strolled through stunning little towns, indulged in delicious meals, both in restaurants and at home cooked by various family members. We soaked up every moment of this very short trip.

Stockholm - Home Sweet Home

Finally, we back home to my boys, who I've missed more tahn I can express! Life moves so fast adn everyone is busy, so I plan to steal evry precious moment I can with them.

Then there is the sheer joy of being back in my land home, a world apart from life on the water. Cooking, one of my great loves, becomes a whole lot more creative in my fully stocked and equipped kitchen. Oh and the showers.....those glorious, indulgent, long showers a luxury you simply do not have on a boat. Not to mention the shift in wardrobe, gone is the braless, shoeless boat gear in exchange for something more proper, neatly styled hair, and the readiness for unexpected visitors.

Thankfully it is summer so we were able to spend time outdoors enjoying BBQ's and time on the water, in the Stockholm archipelago, with friends and family.

A special highligh is a visit from our Dutch family, Eric's Aunt, Uncle and cousin, though just for a few short days before we set off for Greece, always awesome to catch up with them.

Then last but not least, but certainly the crown of the trip, and forsure one of our greatest pleasures of all, dinning in our all-time favorite restaurant, Nour what an incredible experience, no matter how often we go it is always spectacular. Then of course the absolute honor of being invited to his birthday celebration. Now that was a real treat, where we even discovered that he is not just an exceptionally talented chef, but also a mucian.

Greece - Birthday Celebrations & Family Time

Off to the breathtaking Mediterranean we go! Back to the beautiful Greeks Islands, where our love affair with sailing first began.

First stop is the charming Island of Spetses, where a few of us rented quad bikes and golf carts to get around, as Eric is still a little restricted when it comes to longer distances, these were perfect modes of transport, which really helped for the very hot Greek summers as well.

We celebrated our friends birthday, with many fantastic hours spent on the beach and in the pool, enjoying the European sun, as well as spending time with friends and family whom we have not seen in a long time the Island sure did work its magic, leaving us with a lasting memories, together with a substantial dent in our bank account 🙈😳

Once the birthday festivities were over and the final toast was done for the weekend. We had the amazing privilege of heading into the vibrant heart of Athens with our boys and Moa, to have some good quality, uninterrupted family time, enjoying the ancient sites of Athens together with a modern, vibey restaurant and roof top bar scene. Considering our life on the water, and the boys having full time jobs, spending extended periods of quality time has become a little difficult, but oh so sweet when the opportunity arises.

Malaga, Spain

Last leg before heading back to our floating home.

Beautiful Spain a place incredibly close to our hearts, this particular part of the world is one we fell in love with a number of years ago, a place we will continue to return to for many years yet.

We spent a few days with friends and had an absolute blast, as we always do. Still enjoying European summer, we have been able to visit all our favourite place before departing for Brazil. The small pleasure of life, Spanish food, ancient architecture, the joys of sangria, oysters and champagne as you can see Spain is not short on having many of our favourite indulgences.

Just like that this journey comes to an end and we head back to Intle Breeze.
