Birthday Vibes
Just like that our baby girl turned 22, celebrating in one of the most remote corners of the earth. We made a determined push to reach land in time for her birthday, knowing how much she would appreciate it, and just barely made it.
The birthday was unlike most for makyla. For the first time, her brothers weren't there to celebrate with her, a rare and bittersweet "firtst" on a journey already full of firsts. But with Mom, Dad, Uncle and Angie by her side, there ws no shortage of laughter and love. After all, how many people can say they've spent their birthday on an island halfway between Africa nd South America.
The morning kicked off with an early breakfast and presents, setting the tone for a fun day.

Luckily it was Friday on St Helena Island, which meant food trucks, music and a lively atmosphere. The five of us went off to join the locals for a few beers and some good company, before heading back to the boat for a swim, to cool off, yes with safety lines as the current is crazy strong. Dress up for dinner and off to the lovely Mantis Hotel to round off the day .
