Crossing the Pond Day 6
There has been no update from me for a while, there really has not been too much to tell, but better late than never. The good news is that we are now a week into our trip and we are all doing well, there is an unspoken respect for each others privacy and alone time, as much as having good times and laughs together. One of the most important things when doing such a long passage, is the people you are with, you need to be really sure that you can get along in a confined space, as it can make for a wonderful trip or a very difficult and uncomfortable one. Somehow being so far from land and only being around the people on the boat and not having any way of getting off, would be crazy challenging if you never liked your fellow crew, so I would consider us pretty lucky.
We have spent the last couple of days just chilling and enjoying the beautiful weather and skies of sunsets and sunrises somehow these never get old for me. There has been plenty of time to chat, laugh, rest, cook great food and even enjoy some wine. Hold on St Helena, we are nearly there to paint your town red.
The wind, sea and temperatures have all been mild and mother nature is being beautiful, Intle Breeze is truly enjoying the trade winds. This has really given us the time to just enjoy life on this enormous pond.
The evenings have been beautiful and we are able to appreciate the array of stars in the sky and the stars of the ocean, also know as bioluminescence or phosphorescence, it is the most mind blowing beautiful thing. If you don't know what this is please google the images and explanation, as it is simply impossible to get a photo.
We have had some traffic as we have been in a shipping lane for the past 24 hours, however it seems we are out of it now, since we have not seen a ship for quit some time.
We are currently on a heading of 281° with a SE wind and flying along at 7,8 knots. The wind is getting us just off of our stern, and the beutiful Mr Oxley is flying us along.
