Day 9 Course Adjustment

Day 9 Course Adjustment

After having a wonderful Easter meal yesterday, I ensured plenty of left overs in order to give me a day off from feeding everyone. Which worked out perfectly, well for me anyway 😂 they all sorted out their own tummy monsters today.

As predicted the wind really did die early hours of yesterday morning, and our Mr Oxley is flapping around like a drunken ballerina. We were down to 2,5 knots at one stage, as the wind had also changed direction giving us more of a northerly, which makes the kite pretty useless. Early hours of this morning we took it down, and cruised along very slowly till sunlight before the main sail went up again and stayed up this time....no dram to report. 😂

Thankfully the wind has picked up a little this evening, AWS (apparent wind speed) 11 knots and we on a beam reach so 90° on starboard. Considering the lack of wind, between the genoa and the main, we getting a decent speed of around 6,5 knots.

However we have altered our course slightly further north, in search of a little more wind so we currently have a X-track error now of 12nm. Had we stayed on the same course we would just have been floating and going no where slowly. With the wind on our side we are hoping on being in Salvador by Friday.

In the meanwhile some more lazy days, we are expecting full on doldrums in the next day, as you can see it is all very calm out here on the pond.
