Pre Surgery Shenanigans

It has now been 11 days since Eric's accident, and our days have been filled with doctors visits, MRI, purchasing a wheel chair ( The single seater Benz ) and post surgery boots and crutches, not to forget dealing with the medical insurance, to ensure we are fully covered.  Please note all of this happened using nothing but google translate. 😂 Thankfully the single seater Benz was purchased and this did allow us a little more freedom of movement while waiting for surgery, which will take place tomorrow the 23 April.

In the meanwhile we could feel sorry for ourselves or just get out there and actually have some fun with the circumstances we are in, of course this is exactly what we did, this is supposed to be an adventure after all.

During this time we sought out some absolutely wonderful restaurants to enjoy,  with Uber it was pretty easy and no walking required, most of the time the uber drivers would help me get the Benz in and out of the trunk as well.  On my last post about Salvador I will list the restaurants that I highly recommend,  incase you one day find yourself in Salvador Bahia, you will know the very best places to dine. I very much doubt this is going to do our figures any good but anyway, YOLO.  We quickly discovered that Salvador is a very wheel chair friendly city, I am truly grateful for that as it gives us some freedom. When I was tired or just needed a break, Makyla and Eric would venture off to the movies and shopping malls together, and have some Daddy daughter time. We also spent a few nights cooking some good food aboard and perfecting our mixology skills for the wonderful caipirinha.

While trying to fill our time with some kind of entertainment, getting on and off the boat became incredibly nerve wrecking for me, as Eric was just so unstable and really does not have much to hold onto, as I mentioned before,  this jetty can be a challenge for people with two working feet. For this reason I have booked us a hotel that is fully wheel chair friendly for the week after surgery as if anything goes wrong immediately after surgery, he would most likely need another op and we certainly don't want that.

Also sharing a photo of the street art that we saw while being in and out of doctors rooms, was actually really cool, these are all over the city and just beautiful.
