Quick Solo Adventure

Today started early for all of us, except for Eric as he remained in bed with his foot elevated and ice packs. Meanwhile the rest of us got stuck into cleaning the boat as this has not been done since we arrived, to be fair we have only been here for 4 days. We worked with some speed in order to get as much done as possible before the heat kicked into full gear.

Since my hubby's mobility is pretty limited right now, I decided to set off on a little solo adventure. First stop was the local market, this place is full of weird and wonderful things, although the food certainly is not my thing, I did have another mission in mind and that would be a caipirinha, now I did not mention in my previous post just how delicious these Brazilian drinks are, naturally one turned into two 😁 You know, research....I cannot tell you how good they are if I don't get the full experience.

Feeling a little buzzed as they are pretty strong, I decided to go for a walk...yup NO uber today. I had nothing of value on me besides my phone, but was totally willing to take my chances.

Wow it felt exhilarating stepping out into the energy of the city, as we have not walked since St Helena Island, which by now is almost three weeks ago. The streets where alive, packed with locals not a single tourist in sight besides me. 😊 Side walk cafes overflowed with people chatting and sipping frozen beers. Of course by now I am a little hot and bothered and one of those -4°C beers was in order......Gosh I am certainly in beer and caipirinha heaven here. Those of you that know me will also know that I have no problem to walk into a bar or restaurant solo and thoroughly enjoy myself, which is exactly what I did before continuing to walk a little further.

A short while later I realise that I am extremely hot and bothered, probably due to the humidity being well over 80% and I had definitely walked further than I planned and now realised that I had the long haul back to the boat, and all I could think of was the sweet relief of air conditioning cooling my bones.
